Csaba Veres: “Semantic findability in news media”
February 18, 2015. Tid: 12:15 - 13:00
Bergen Journalism Lab invites you to listen to our colleague Csaba Veres, that will talk about «Semantic fundability in news media. The case of the BBC».
«For some years I have been interested in the problem of findability: what technologies can help people locate high quality, relevant information in the vast quantities of data on the internet and elsewhere? The problem is particularly pressing for workers in the news media, whose mission is to report accurate news as it happens, and to catalog old news in a way that makes it always available.
Last year a small group of us visited the BBC labs in London, who are world leaders in implementing semantic technologies to manage content on a commercial scale.I will speak about some of the things we learned on our visit, and say some words about how our work in Bergen can offer solutions to some of their problems.»
