Frode Guribye: The ecology of tools for mobile journalism

Bergen Journalism Lab invites you to a seminar with Associate professor Frode Guribye from the Infomedia Department.
Guribye will talk about the ecology for mobile journalism in the professional news organization TV 2. He will give a description of current research on mobile journalism, and present a planned study of the work practice of mobile journalists in a professional news organization (TV2).
Mobile camera technologies
The talk will focus on how pervasive mobile technologies are changing the conditions for work in journalism. We will also outline a perspective, rooted in human-computer interaction and interaction design, for understanding mobile telephoneechnologies as part of a larger ecology of journalistic tools and artifacts.
Biography Frode Guribye
Associate Professor Frode Guribye teaches interaction design at the bachelor and master level, and also conduct ethnographic and qualitative research on the use of Powerpoint, cameras and other interfaces. Guribye is currently involved in the Vismedia project headed by professor Astrid Gynnild.
