Ana Laws and Fanke Peng: “Wearable & touchless computing”

Bergen Journalism Lab invites you to a special lunch seminar next Wednesday, June 3rd about «Wearable & touches computing, and applications for Aged Care and Fashion» Dr. Ana Laws and assisting professor Fanke Peng will present the topic.

Dr. Ana Laws, who worked at our department some years ago, has returned from the University of Canberra in Australia to take up a position at Volda University College. She comes to Bergen next week, bringing her colleague Dr. Fanke Peng. At the lunch seminar they will talk about three wearable and touchless applications that are presented in detail in the attached PDF-poster.We hope many can join us on Wednesday at 12.15. Ana is interested in talking to colleagues who already do research on wearable computing, or who want to start researching this topic.

Dr. Ana Louisa Sanchez Laws is Associate Professor in Media and Design at Volda University College. One strand of her research focuses on the use of new technologies to address contested topics in museums and issues of diversity and social inclusion in museums. She has written a book on these issues, Panamanian Museums and Historical Memory (Berghahn Books 2011).

Fanke Peng is Assistant Professor in Cross-Cultural Design Lab, University of Canberra. Dr. Fanke Peng is the Course Convener of Fashion at the University of Canberra and the founder of the Cross-Culture Design Lab. She is an international award winning designer and researcher, with a research focus on digital fashion and craft in the global creative economy.
